The Memory of Loss

A phone call
Muffled voices
My dad in shock
Then Silence
Broken by crying
Hours
Days
Of tears
Drowning in sorrow
Finally
The day of the funeral
Numb
Everything felt numb
Family trying to cheer me up
But all I could do was mourn
All I could think of was sorrow
All I could see was him
My Uncle
Who just days ago, was happy
Breathing
Living
Now that was all gone
